Combining Amoxicillin and Alcohol May Have Bad Effects

 

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic which is mainly used for curing different infections due to bacteria. It comes in various brands and is proven to be versatile in curing a lot of diseases such as pneumonia, gall bladder infections, gonorrhea, and other diseases due to bacterial infections. Along with other types of antibiotics, Amoxicillin is a great help to those suffering from stomach ulcers. In taking in Amoxicillin, always remember that it should not be combined with alcohol. Amoxicillin and Alcohol will not treat your disease; instead, it will produce other side effects that may harm your health.

Though there are no critical findings about combining Amoxicillin and Alcohol can adversely affect your health, many physicians still agree that it should be avoided if possible. Based on the statement of one of the medical doctors, the side effects of mixing alcohol and Amoxicillin together are all urban legends. The fact is, alcohol itself is a drug and just like any other drug, it should not be combined with Amoxicillin if possible. The side effects of Amoxicillin are exaggerated once a person takes in alcohol. It is always best to consult a physician to make sure these side effects can be avoided.
